WhatsApp for Android is one of the world’s most popular messaging apps, offering free text, voice, and video communication over the internet.
With its clean interface, end-to-end encryption, and seamless cross-platform functionality, it has become an essential app for personal and professional conversations.
Started in 2009 by Brian Acton and Jan Koum, WhatsApp began as a simple status-updating app before transforming to messaging.
Its rapid growth attracted Facebook (now Meta), which acquired it in 2014 for $19 billion.
Since then, WhatsApp has expanded with features like group chats, voice and video calls, Stories (Status), and business tools, all while maintaining its core focus on privacy and accessibility.
Today, it serves over 2 billion users worldwide, making it a dominant force in global communication.
