For over a decade, Nvidia GeForce Experience (GFE) served as a free companion app for PC gamers with Nvidia GPUs, offering driver updates, game optimizations, and recording tools.

Designed to simplify gaming setups, it automatically adjusts graphics settings for your hardware and enabled features like ShadowPlay for instant replays and Ansel for high-res screenshots.

However, as of 2025, Nvidia has retired GFE in favor of its sleeker successor, the Nvidia App, a unified platform merging GFE’s best features with a more intuitive interface.

What is GeForce Experience?

GFE is a one-stop hub for Nvidia GPU users, focusing on three core tasks:
